Theatre and arts as part of our cultural strategy

Theatre and arts performance is an important theme in our Cultural strategy for 2009 - 2013.

What are our key aims?

1. Review venues for live performances

We will review venues throughout Waverley to identify those suitable for live performances.

2. Plan for public art

We will work with key partners to plan and roll-out public art projects from December 2010.

3. Public art in Farnham

We will organise public art commissions and art programmes as part of the East Street development in Farnham.

4. Support community theatre

We will support the Waverley Theatre Forum to help co-ordinate activities between community theatre groups in Waverley.

5. Help local artists, craft makers and creative businesses

We will form a creative sector steering group to advise the Waverley Business Forum on how they can offer support to local professional artists, craft makers and creative businesses.
