The library is open 1.00 - 4.00 pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
It is a reference library, staffed by a team of experienced volunteer librarians.
We can answer enquiries received by letter, phone or e-mail. There is no charge for the first half hour of research on any enquiry. If it looks as though your enquiry will take longer to answer, we will contact you to let you know.

We can provide the library service downstairs. The library is on the first floor of the listed medieval museum building, approached by 16 steps (with a handrail). If you would like to use the library service on the ground floor, which has ramped access, please contact the duty librarian and this can be readily arranged.
We can extend library open hours by arrangement. If you are travelling a long way to use the library, please let us know and we can arrange to open in the morning as well.
