Planning applications are determined either by local Councillors at four Development Control sub-Committees or by Planning Officers under 'scheme of delegation'.
The majority of applications will be for small scale development, advertisements, tree applications and other minor proposals and are likely to be 'delegated'. All other applications will be determined at the Development Control Sub-Committees.
There are four Area Planning Committees:
- Area Planning Committee (Eastern)
-
Area Planning Committee (Western)
- Area Planning Committee (Southern)
-
Area Planning Committee (Central)
(tell us your postcode and we can show you your local town/parish and sub-committee)
The Committees meet alternately every three weeks at the Godalming Offices.
Meetings - for agendas, committee documents and Councillors.
Members of the Public are entitled to attend Planning meetings and may speak under certain circumstances. Any comments on planning applications should be put in writing beforehand. All the information used in preparing the reports is open for inspection as long as it is not considered exempt information under the terms of the Local Government Act 1972.
