Noise -Environmental Protection Team
Noise related issues are dealt with by The Environmental Protection Team within Environmental Health tackling noise from both domestic homes and commercial businesses as well as other nuisances such as smells and dust.
We investigate complaints about excessive noise and can take action if the noise is considered to be a statutory nuisance.

Out-of-hours service
In addition to the normal working week the Environmental Protection Team also runs an out-of-hours service between June and September, Saturdays 21.00hours until 04.00 hours, to tackle serious noise problems.
The action undertaken depends on the nature of the problem, time of day, and whether this is a first time complaint or a recurring problem.
This service is provided by two officers working as a team, for health and safety reasons, covering the whole of the borough. As a result in times of high demand there may be a delay in their response.
