We are making a number of changes to our car parks. The main change is that charges will apply until 7pm, instead of 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
See a breakdown of the proposed changes at Changes to car parks in Waverley.
Keeping town and village centres vibrant for shopping and leisure
The changes to our car parks aim to keep Waverley's town and village centres as vibrant places for shopping and leisure activities. This means keeping charges affordable so people can nip in to town for an hour or two but also for workers to park within walking distance at reasonable rates.
For example:
- Crown Court car park in the centre of Godalming currently costs 60p per hour. From 1 February, the charges will be 60p per hour for the first four hours, and £1 per hour thereafter.
- Parking charges at Meadrow car park in Godalming for more than two hours will
be reduced. (Current charges for parking for over 2 hours is £2.50. From 1 February 2012, this will be £1.50)
Improving car parks
Money generated from parking gets ploughed back into improving the service for motorists.
