Waverley wins 'efficient council' award
We have been officially recognised as the leading council in the South East for improving the efficiency of the services we provide.

The awards were organised by Improvement and Efficiency South East (iESE) - a partnership led by councils that was established to support the region's public sector bodies.
As well as being announced as the winner in the Delivering Efficiency category, Waverley was also confirmed as having narrowly missed out on the Council of the Year Award, coming runner up in a very competitive field.
The efficiency award is for Waverley's Foresight Efficiency Programme. In the last year the programme has delivered service improvements that have significantly helped people who live in the Borough such as dealing with benefit assessments during a single visit to the council offices.
Chief Executive Mary Orton said: "All the categories in the iESE awards were strongly contested so to win one and be recognised through a shortlisting for the main award is fantastic. Waverley has for a long time been working hard, and looking at being as innovative as possible, when it comes to being efficient with residents' money. This award shows that across the South East.
"We have been hugely successful in ensuring we get the maximum out of every pound we spend. In the last year we have safeguarded grant funding to vital front line services such as day centres while increasing investment in recycling and refuse collection. We know we must continue to strive to maintain high levels of efficiencies in the years to come. Looking at the financial year that will start next month, we will deliver more than £2 million from within that budget. These achievements are down to the hard work and innovative thinking of everyone connected with our work."
