Do you fancy a new frock for free, no longer cherish your culottes or think it’s time to recycle your raincoat?
Then get down to Waverley’s second bring and take clothing event, on Tuesday 21 August, where you can get rid of items you don’t want and find yourself a new outfit to adore – all for free.
The event takes place from 10.30am to 1.30pm, in the Court Room at Godalming Borough Hall and is open to everyone.
Unwanted but wearable clothes, shoes and accessories can be donated and swapped for something else. There will even be an alterations expert on hand to give advice on refitting and refashioning clothes.
If you have any clothes that are not suitable for swapping, did you know that all clothes and home textiles, including towels, sheets, pairs of shoes, bags and socks can be recycled? By taking them to one of our textile recycling banks they are either sorted to be used again in the UK and abroad or recycled into new products like stuffing, felt or insulation. However, stuffed items like pillows, cushions and quilts cannot be recycled.
The textile recycling banks can be found in the council’s main car parks in Godalming, Farnham, Haslemere, Hindhead and Cranleigh. For more information see Waverley’s website www.waverley.gov.uk/textiles
