A public examination of Waverley’s Draft Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), a tariff charged on new development to raise funds to provide infrastructure, will take place on Tuesday 17 July 2018.
The draft CIL charging schedule was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for examination on 11 May 2018 following two stages of consultation.
An independent examiner, Mr Philip Staddon, has now been appointed to conduct the public review to consider whether the draft charging schedule can be adopted.
The examiner will set out his conclusions in a report 6-8 weeks after the hearing date. The council is intending to adopt the charging scheduled in September or October, with implementation anticipated in December 2018.
