Mayor of Waverley civic service

More than 100 guests turned out for the Mayor of Waverley’s Civic Service at St Mary's Church in Chiddingfold on Sunday 17 September.

Councillor Simon Inchbald, Mayor of Waverley, was joined by the High Sheriff of Surrey, the Chairman of Surrey County Council and fellow borough and county Mayors and Chairmen.

The service was led by Reverend Sarah Brough, the Mayor Chaplain and lessons were read by Sister Mary Inchbald (the Mayor’s sister) and Colonel Tony Ward, a Chiddingfold resident.

Speaking after the service Councillor Inchbald said: “I am honoured to be able to hold my Civic Service in my local church and see so many familiar faces.  I would like to thank everyone for attending and making today a truly special day”.
