Local Plan Part 1: Examination

The Waverley Borough Local Plan Part 1: Strategic Policies and Sites was submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, on 21 December 2016 for independent examination.

The scheduled Examination Hearings have now concluded, although this is not the end of the Examination.

Consultation on Main Modifications

Following the Examination Hearings, the council has prepared some Main Modifications to the Plan for public consultation. The Main Modifications are changes, additions or deletions to make the plan 'sound', and have been prepared in liaison with the Planning Inspector who is conducting the Examination.

A public consultation on these Main Modifications will run for 6 weeks from Friday 8 September to 5pm on Friday 20 October 2017. Please note any late representations are not duly made and therefore will not be submitted to the Inspector.

At this stage, representations are only being sought on whether the Main Modifications to the Plan are sound and/or legally compliant. Please do not repeat your previous comments, as these have already been considered by the Inspector.

Comments may also be made at this stage on the Addendums to the Sustainablity Appraisal and Habitats Regulations Assessment of the Local Plan Part 1.
