Waverley Borough Council

Supporting documents

Introduction

Alongside the documents which guide and shape develoment within the area (i.e. the DPDs and SPDs) there are other supporting documents which form part of the Local Development Framework.

These supporting documents serve a variety of functions and provide information on:

  • how the community can have their say on the LDF and major planning applications
  • what documents will be produced and when
  • how the production of the documents is progressing and how well the policies of the LDF are performing

Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Community involvement is an important part of the process in preparing the LDF. The aim of the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is to help ensure community ownership of the LDF and to strengthen community involvement in planning.

The programme of consultation and involvement for the LDF is more extensive than previously for Local Plans and aims to improve overall representation and involvement across all sections of the community. Waverley's SCI was formally adopted on the 18th July 2006.

Local Development Scheme (LDS)

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the timetable for the documents that the Council will be producing as part of the LDF. It provides a starting point for you to see what documentation this Council will be producing and at what stage you can become involved in the LDF process.

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is generally reviewed on an annual basis to show a three-year rolling programme. The LDS (2007) has now been reviewed. A revised scheme was agreed by the Council's Executive Committee on the 31 March 2009 and formally agreed by the Government Office for the South East in July 2009.

Annual Monitoring Report (AMR)

The Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) is an integral part of the new Local Development Framework. It is a wide-ranging monitoring document, with two key tasks:

  • to assesses the progress of producing the documents of the LDF against the prescribed timetable
  • to address the extent to which policies in Local Development Documents (LDDs) are being successfully implemented, and more importantly, reporting on whether they are achieving their desired results

The Annual Monitoring Report has to be submitted to the Government Office in December of each year. To date the Council has produced and submitted the following Annual Monitoring Reports:
