Help with the cost of renting - Local Housing Allowance

Help with your deposit - Deposit Guarantee Scheme

The Deposit Guarantee Scheme may be able to help if you urgently need housing but do not have enough money to pay your own deposit. You will need to meet certain conditions to qualify for our help.   Please contact the Housing Options Section to discuss your situation 01483 523188 and we can advise you.

If you qualify for help, we may be able to issue a deposit bond to your prospective landlord in place of a cash deposit. The deposit bond has a maximum value of eight weeks' rent, although we do not guarantee to provide the full amount for you. The amount you get will depend on your circumstances and budget available.
