Waverley Borough Council

Caravan Site Licensing

Introduction

Waverley Council licences 19 caravan and mobile home sites in the borough. Most sites have only one or two caravans but five sites have over 30.

Anyone stationing a caravan or mobile home on land and using it for accommodation will require planning permission both for the caravan or mobile home and for the use of the land for residential purposes.

Where a site has got planning permission, the owner of the site must also have a caravan site licence, which is granted by Waverley Borough Council. Failure to do this may result in prosecution.

However there are some circumstances where a site licence is not required. These are listed under exemptions.
