Top Youth Council
Aims of the Top Youth Council (TYC)
TYC is aimed at young people aged 12-19 who live or go to school in Waverley. TYC is an exciting opportunity to take part in local democracy.
TYC aims to:
- give young people a voice in their local government and provide a forum for Councils and organisations to seek input and advice from young people
- involve young people more in decision making processes and shaping local provision.
- provide an opportunity for young people to learn about local government
- encourage young people to represent others and not just voice their own concerns
- act as a grant-giving panel for the Youth Opportunity and Youth Capital Fund.
So far 15 young people have come forward and are eager to become Youth Councillors from local youth groups and schools.
Tabbie Roberts, from Shalford has been appointed as Chair of the TYC and Millie Windus, from Cranleigh has been appointed as Vice-Chair.
