Sources of funding for local youth projects

This service does not award grants to local youth projects but will consider supporting partnership projects if they share similar aims. 

The Community Development Youth Officer is also happy to advise and support local artists, art organisations and community groups in Waverley if they wish to apply for funding.

National

Awards For All Funding

Awards for All England is supported by the Arts Council England, the Big Lottery Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England. Grants of between £300 and £10,000 are awarded for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities that promote education, the environment and health in the local community. BBC Children in Need

The Appeal gives grants to organisations working with disadvantaged children and young people. If you are properly constituted, a not for profit organisation based in the UK wanting to apply for funds to help with a project that aims to improves the lives of children and young people suffering disadvantage you can apply. Surrey Community Foundation is an independent charity, which is part of a national network of community foundations in the UK. Surrey County Council Youth Development Service and Surrey CVYS - New Activity Fund.

Grants up to £1,500 are available for positive activities that meet one or more of the Every Child Matter Outcomes:

  • Being Healthy
  • Staying Safe
  • Enjoying and Achieving
  • Making a Positive Contributrion
  • Economic Well-being. 

The total cost of the project must not exceed £5,000 and only youth organisations registered with SCC Youth Development Service are eligible. For further about the conditions of the fund and for an application form please contact:

The Betty Riseley Trust

 The Betty Riseley Trust is a charity which issues grants to organisations and smaller charities which work directly with children and young people aged 18 and below. In particular, those organisations should aim to improve the standard of life of young people by providing recreational and leisure activities and/or education and training, for those in the Surrey area.  Please contact:

The Sarah Marshall Charitable Trust

The Sarah Marshall Charitable Trust was formed in 1999 to provide grants for the spiritual, physical and educational development of young people under the age of 25 who live in the Godalming Town Council Area. Grants are available to support the following activities.

  • to enable young people to go on school trips
  • to support local youth clubs
  • to support local sporting and artistic clubs
