This is a selection of the different sessions we can run in your school or at the Museum. Please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page to discuss any of these talks or request something different!

Castles |
Who lives in a castle? Why did people live in a castle and how did they defend it? This session is aimed at foundation and KS1 children. |
| Digging up the past | An introduction to archaeology. This includes how materials decay, chronology, examining evidence, asking and answering questions. |
| A Farnham Timeline | Using archaeology, the children trace Farnham's history from Paleolithic times to the nineteenth century. There are worksheets available for schools to use in the museum as a follow-up to this session. |
| Food through the Ages | What did people eat in the past? How did they cook it? |
| Lighting through the Ages |
How did people light their homes in the past? |
| Nursery Rhymes |
Pre-school groups love going around the Museum singing nursery rhymes connected with the displays! |
| Romans in Surrey |
Meet a local Roman housewife. Discover what Surrey was like in Roman times by looking at the evidence they left behind. |
| A Trip to the Seaside | Children can take the train to the Edwardian seaside and see a Punch and Judy show! |
| Tudors at Home |
What was life like for ordinary people in Tudor times? What were their homes like? How did people cook, keep warm and light their houses? What did they eat? |
| Waverley Abbey | Groups can visit the site with a member of the Education Team to discover more about the first Cistercian Monastery in England and the monks who lived there. |
| Victorian Clothing | Looking at different styles and fashions of the Victorian Age. |
| Victorian Mystery Objects | How did the Victorians cook, clean, wash and light their homes? We look at the mysterious Victorian objects and puzzle over what they are and how they were used. |
| Victorian Toys and Childhood | What did children do in Victorian times? What were the differences between life for rich and poor? What did children play with? What were their toys made from? |
