About the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games 2017

One of the main aims of the Games is to encourage young people to develop their sporting skills and promote physical activity as well as fair play in sport. We had nearly 300 registrations from young people all over Waverley attending our training sessions and  over 120 of those participants were selected to represent Team Waverley during the weekend competition events. We are pleased to confirm Waverley finished sixth overall out of all 11 Surrey boroughs. This is a great achievement and all participants should be very proud of themselves.

What training was offered?

We offered up to eight weeks of FREE training led by fully qualified and experienced coaches in your chosen sport or sports. This excludes the trial sports, swimming and Judo.

Through attending training sessions each participant then had the chance to be selected for Team Waverley's for the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games competition events.

All of our coaches have links to one of Waverley's sports clubs meaning it will offer all the attendees the chance to carry on playing their chosen sport after the fun of the Surrey Youth Games is over.
