Town initiatives
Town healthchecks
Waverley is made up of four market towns each of which has undertaken Market Town Healthcheck.
A Healthcheck is a process of carrying out a town appraisal covering issues that affect peoples' quality of life in the town and surrounding countryside. They encompass a factual "snapshot" of the town and includes workshops looking at the environment, economy, social and community issues, transport and accessibility.
Godalming Together
Godalming Together is the Community Interest Company formed following the completion of the Godalming Healthcheck. Supported by Waverley Borough Council and Godalming Town Council, a Town Co-ordinator has been appointed to deliver the outcomes of the Healthcheck.

Cranleigh Initiative
The Cranleigh Initiative is a partnership of key organisations in the village including representatives from Waverley Borough Council, Cranleigh Parish Council, Cranleigh Chamber of Trade and Commerce, The Rotary Club, The Lions, Churches Together, Youth, Schools and the Cranleigh Arts Centre.
A Community Health-check was carried out in 2003 which established a number of key projects to enhance community life in Cranleigh. Following the Health-check funding was sought and obtained to improve the overall look, safety, and user friendliness of the High Street and surrounding areas.
The current focus of the Cranleigh Initiative is to boost the vitality and economic sustainability of the community which it aims to achieve through regular Community events in the village centre including Spring into Cranleigh, Christmas Lights spectacular, Summer Saturdays and a bi-annual Community Day.
