How our housing repairs people should behave

Contractors' Code of Conduct

When working on your home, our contractors must follow a code of conduct. This sets standards of behaviour that they must apply, for example, they must:
  • introduce themselves clearly and show you an identity card before asking to come in
  • be wearing an appropriate uniform
  • explain the work that they are there to do
  • use and store materials in a safe manner
  • behave in a polite and courteous manner
  • not smoke in your home
  • use clean dustsheets
  • always think safety - never have trailing leads and never leave tools lying around
  • clear up when they leave, even if they need to return to finish the repair
  • drive and park courteously
  • carry out your work to the highest standard
If you have a complaint about a contractor working on our behalf then please contact us on 0330 119 3000

Please note that calls may be recorded for training or monitoring.
