New developments in Waverley need to provide access to outdoor space and play areas for children.

Paragraph 6.79 of the Waverley Borough Local Plan 2002 (Saved Policy H10) explains that:

"With the exception of dwellings specifically designed for single people, elderly persons or other households where no children will be present, developers will be required to demonstrate that their proposals take account of the play needs of children."

Guidance

Developers should follow the guidance set out by Fields in Trust, as this will be a material planning consideration when considering planning applications.

See the Guidance for Outdoor Sport and Play Beyond the Six Acre Standard (Fields in Trust website).
