Local Plan Part 1: Examination

The Waverley Borough Local Plan Part 1: Strategic Policies and Sites was submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, on 21 December 2016 for independent examination. The submission documents can be found on the New Local Plan page of the web site.

The Secretary of State has appointed Jonathan Bore to conduct the Examination to determine whether the Local Plan is sound. To help assist with the examination of documents the council has appointed Mrs Claire Jones-Hughes of Banks Solutions to act as an independent Programme Officer.

Latest news on the Examination

On the 6 April 2017 the council received 'Matters and Issues for the Examination' and a 'Guidance Note'. The Guidance note sets out details around how the Inspector will organise the  Examination and the hearings. This indicates that hearings will open on 27 June 2017. The Matters and Issues document sets out the key matters and issues that relate to the soundness of the plan.
