Update Report on the Waverley Traveller Accommodation Assessment – April 2016

There were two planning application appeals in 2014 where the appellants argued that the Waverley Traveller Accommodation Assessment (TAA) that was published in April 2014 overstated the number of new traveller pitches being provided on:

  • Rodborough Hill, Milford
  • New Acres, Stovolds Hill, Dunsfold

as a result of recent planning permissions.

In response, this report revisits the evidence on these two sites and their implications for the supply and demand for traveller pitches set out in the Waverley TAA April 2014.

The report focuses on the issues mentioned above only.  It is not a comprehensive update to the Waverley TAA April 2014.  However, the Council recognises that the definition of a gypsy and traveller in the Government’s Planning Policy for Traveller Sites was revised in August 2015 and that there will be further guidance regarding the preparation of TAAs.  This will require a comprehensive update to the Waverley TAA in due course.

This report has been superseded as of June 2017.
