Apply for a job

To apply for a job at Waverley, your application should include:

  • an up-to-date CV 
  • Examples of how you demonstrate why you have applied for this post and the way in which you meet the essential and/or desirable criteria outlined in the person specification of the job description. 

In your application please include, where relevant, any specialist work undertaken, relevant training courses and personal qualities which make you suitable for this post.  Also include any voluntary work or other 'non-work' activities that may be relevant to your application.

 

Where to send your application

We strongly encourage candidates to use our online recruitment system when applying for any vacancy with us as it's our preferred recruitment application method. 

Forms are completed online and you can upload your CV and submit it straight to us.

Should you require, we can provide a hard copy of the application form; please email jobs@waverley.gov.uk with your details and we can send this through to you. 

Please ensure you submit your completed form and attach a CV and return it back to us before the closing date of the post.

Please ensure that the references you supply:

  • relate to people you know in a professional capacity, covering a period of five years
  • are not relatives or partners
  • include your last two employers or a college tutor.  Previous managers or tutors can also be named.

If you have given your consent for references to be taken up, this will be done without any further contact with you.

If you indicate on your application form that you do not give your consent for references to be taken up, you will be contacted again prior to references being taken up.

 

Shortlisting for interviews

The shortlisting panel will read the information sent as part of your application and assess how well you demonstrate that your skills, experience and knowledge meet the requirements of the job as set out in the person specification.

Interviews usually take place within three or four weeks of the closing date.
