Waverley is a great place to work and a great place for you to make a real difference to people's lives. Below is some useful information about working for us and what you could expect.

Location

Our main office is in Godalming, close to the centre of town and next to the river.  See our location map and travel details.

There are also three local offices situated in Farnham, Haslemere and Cranleigh where members of the public can make appointments to meet with staff from key services.

We also operate a training service for young people, have countryside rangers and have a number of sheltered housing units across the borough.

Salaries

Salaries are paid into your bank account on the 15th of each month. Staff are paid approximately two weeks in advance and two weeks in arrears.

Pension scheme

All staff with a contract for three months or more automatically become members of the Local Government Pension Scheme on the day they start, unless they opt out of the scheme.

The scheme provides a range of excellent benefits including a pension based on final salary, life insurance and dependants’ benefits. See the Staff benefits page for more information.

Training and development

Waverley has a positive and comprehensive approach to training and development and is committed to developing employees to make the best use of their skills and experience. Find out more about Learning and Development at Waverley.

All new employees receive an Induction Handbook and are invited to attend an induction course shortly after starting at Waverley.

Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults

All employees have a responsibility for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in the course of their day to day duties and for ensuring that they are aware of the specific duties relating to their role.

Everyone at Waverley Borough Council is part of an organisation all working towards one ambition: to deliver excellent quality services to our residents.
