    The Mercy

Despite some initial success selling his own navigation equipment, father and entrepreneur Donald Crowhurst (Colin Firth) sees his business begin to fail. Terrified of ending up like his own father, who lost all his money on investments that turned sour, he searches for ways to boost his income.

As a weekend sailor and inventor of aviation equipment, he decides to enter the prestigious Sunday Times Golden Globe Race, which involves a round-the-world solo yacht voyage and a handsome cash prize for the winner. His wife Clare (Rachel Weisz) and all his friends tell him he’s a mad man, and urge the amateur sailor to rethink his plans.

The future isn’t bright for the canines of a dystopian Japan...

    Isle of Dogs

Due to an outbreak of so-called ‘canine flu’, the Japanese government bans all dogs from the island, sending them to a former garbage dump to fend for themselves.

Over time, the dogs develop a reluctant hierarchy led by Chief (Bryan Cranston), who guides a host of offbeat breeds, including Rex (Edward Norton), Boss (Bill Murray), Duke (Jeff Goldblum), and King (Bob Balaban).

The dogs rule their garbage sanctuary, isolated from the wider community, until one day a boy named Atari (Koyu Rankin) turns up looking for his dog, Spots (Liev Schreiber). Fed up of being separated from humanity, the dogs welcome Atari and work with him to locate Spots, and protect Atari from the Japanese authorities who have come to bring him back home.

Isle of Dogs is a brand-new animation from the incomparable mind of Wes Anderson (The Fantastic Mister Fox, The Grand Budapest Hotel), who has written, directed and produced this film.
