    Assist us with the management of this historic deer park.

    Volunteer sessions take place every Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 12:30 to assist in the management in this historic deer park. Meet at 9.30am at the Farnham Park ranger’s office next to the main car park on Folly Hill (GU9 0AU), or check site noticeboards and meet at the work location at 10am.

    Dates and tasks are subject to change – please check with site noticeboards or the ranger beforehand by calling 01252 717047. Sessions led by Nick

    Volunteer sessions take place every Wednesday from 10:00 – 15:30, apart from the second Wednesday of the month where the session will instead be at Mare Hill Common.

    Unless otherwise specified, meet at 10:00 at the Frensham Pond visitor centre, Bacon Lane, Churt, GU10 2QB. Sessions led by Darren.

    Gorse coppicing: Today we will be coppicing overgrown and straggly path side gorse to increase fire break potential and create more diversity of vegetation structure.

    Gorse coppicing: Today we will continue with coppicing overgrown and straggly path side gorse to increase fire break potential and create more diversity of vegetation structure.

    Wednesday 26 September

    Gorse coppicing: Today we will be working to coppice a large area of gorse, providing more sunlight to the ground flora, introducing diversity of structure and reducing the overall risk of fire.

    Barrows vegetation clearance: Today we will use the trusted combination of loppers and bowsaws to clear the barrows of vegetation. These scheduled ancient monuments are at risk of erosion and the clearance of scrub is a requirement of our Higher Level Stewardship agreement with Natural England.

    Marking the centenary of the end of the First World War, this exhibition remembers those who fought and explores the impact on the lives of residents of Godalming, Farncombe and surrounding villages.

    Discover the stories which lie behind the war memorials we pass every day and the characters and events which shaped the local experience of 'The Great War'.

    Godalming Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.

    Willmer_House_by_Thomas_HunterA hop grower’s residence, a school for young ladies, a dentist’s surgery; Since Willmer House was built in 1718 it has been many different things to different people. In this special exhibition celebrating 300 years of Willmer House, visitors will be able to learn more about the history of the building through material specially selected by pupils from Potters Gate School.
