    Businesses in Waverley are invited to a free seminar at the borough council offices on 17 May to find out how to future proof their businesses.

    The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) will be leading the seminar focusing on:

    • finance
    • accounting
    • tax
    • IT
    • and more.

    The free evening offers an opportunity to stand back from the day to day running of a business and think about what procedures should be considered to successfully grow and manage a business. The seminar offers practical tips and expert guidance for businesses, whether they are starting out or are long established. There is also an opportunity to network with other local businesses.

    This event has been organised by Waverley Borough Council and Haslemere, Cranleigh, Farnham and Godalming Chambers of Commerce.

  • The Surrey Hills Sculpture Garden Exhibition

    A Sculpture Garden exhibition with over 170 sculptures for sale on display.

    This annual Surrey Hills Sculpture Garden exhibition takes place in the picturesque gardens of Birtley Estate and features sculptures by up-and-coming and well known sculptors. All sculptures are for sale and proceeds from commissions go to the Surrey Hills Trust, which supports local community projects and enterprise schemes that benefit and enhance the Surrey Hills landscape.

    Regular Wednesday tasks (10am-3.30pm) usually take place at Frensham Common - normally meeting at the rangers' office. Contact the ranger Vicky Booth for more details 01252 792416

    All tools, training and tea and biscuits provided. The tasks run from 10am until 12.30pm with a tea break at 11am.

    All are welcome (people under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult) - just wear old clothes and sturdy shoes. We'll provide all tools, training and tea and biscuits. Sorry, no dogs.

    Volunteers meet at 9.30am at the Farnham Park ranger’s office in the main car park at Folly Hill, GU9 0AU.

    All tools, training and tea and biscuits provided. The tasks run from 10-12.30 with a tea break at 11am.

    Dates and tasks are subject to change – please check with the site noticeboards or call the ranger beforehand on 01252 717047.
