Councillor Gillian Beel

Gillian was Mayor of Waverley from 1996 to 1997 and has previously represented Weybourne and Badshot Lea as a Waverley Borough Councillor for over 9 years.

She has been Chairman of the Local Planning Sub-Committee, Vice-Chairman of the main Planning Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Licensing Committee and she was the first Chairman of the Grants Panel.

Gillian was Chairman of Governors at Hale First School and she was a Waverley representative of several voluntary organisations. She admires the dedication of volunteers without whom so many charities would cease to flourish. She considers that people with disabilities sometimes have a raw deal.

Her main interest is studying the life and assassination of John F Kennedy. She enjoys tapestry working and knitting.

Gillian was Chairman of the Licensing Committee (Vice Chairman some years ago) for a number of years and was Mayor of Farnham in 2008/2009.
