Councillor Liz Wheatley

Liz Wheatley represents Binscombe ward and is a Godalming Town Council Councillor (currently Deputy Mayor-elect). She was first elected to Waverley Borough Council in May 2007.  Liz grew up in Essex attending Westcliff High School for Girls and spent her early working life in the City of London as an advertisement manager for her mother's trade magazine. 

She and her husband, Mike, moved to Godalming in July 1988 and ran a book-keeping business from 1991 to the end of 2005.  Liz has a son, a daughter and grandson.  Liz enjoys being involved in the town's activities which include:

Speech, Drama and Musical Theatre Section Secretary of the Godalming Music Festival;
A community governor of Loseley Fields Primary School;
Both Vice Chairman and Treasurer of DisCASS;
Part of Go Godalming's GOLO lottery team;
Godalming Town Council's representative on the Fair Trade Steering Group;
Godalming Town Council's representative on the Godalming/Mayen Association.

She is also the Membership Secretary for Farnham's Bourne Players; an occasional volunteer at the Rural Life Centre; Member of the Hall and Fabric Committee of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers; A Friend of the Guildford School of Acting.
