Councillor Carole King

I have lived in Haslemere since 1975 together with my husband, William. After leaving college I worked for the Ministry of Defence in England and Germany before joining the Electricity Supply Industry, in both Guildford and the City of London, working in facilities management. Following early retirement I worked from home in Critchmere as an independent Project Management Consultant specialising in organisation, standards and systems. I have been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Haslemere Hall and am President of Haslemere Flower Club and have a keen interest in local Neighbourhood Watch and crime reduction.  

I was elected to Waverley Borough Council in 2007 and have been a member of the Executive at Waverley since 2008 with special responsibility for community safety, car parks and older people.  I am concerned about the provision of services for young people, speeding traffic through Critchmere & Shottermill and the effect the opening of the Hindhead tunnel will have on the local area, particularly in relation to rat running.
