Councillor Jim Edwards

I have lived in the local area for thirty years. After a fulfilling Army career, I joined a retail company rising to Director and for the last 13 years I have run Basix Weyhill, employing and serving the local people.

I am currently Chair of Governors at Shottermill Infants School, involved with Haslemere Border Athletic Club, a UKA Athletics Coach, training young people two evenings a week and also a Director of Woolmer Hill Sports Association.

I am a keen golfer and long distance/marathon runner. My last marathon being New York in 2005 and I also ran the Great South Run in October 2007.

I am a Haslemere Town Councillor for the Shottermill Ward and my concerns are for all residents and businesses within the community, particularly those in the Weyhill area.

I will be implementing a personal action plan to address both the concerns of all our residents and the imbalances of investment at both town and borough level when compared to other areas.
