Waverley Borough Council

Waverley Citizens' Panel

Citizens' Panel - Your Voices, Your Choices

At Waverley, we believe you should be consulted about the services you receive from the Council to help us identify what we're doing well and what we could improve on. We also want to know what you think about our future plans to help us make the right decisions for the Borough.

We do this mainly through the Citizens' Panel.

Who is on Waverley's Citizens' Panel?

The panel is made up of more than 1,100 Waverley residents, specially recruited to reflect the Waverley population in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, belief, disability and socio-economic group. We have also done or best to ensure representation by parliamentary ward. We hope this will ensure that everyone's views are represented.

Every two years, we refresh the panel by one-third. Those who no longer wish to be members step down and we recruit around 350 new panellists. This ensures that more people who live in Waverley get the chance to have their voices heard.

What does being on the Citizens' Panel involve?

Being on the Citizens' Panel involves answering two or three questionnaires per year which give us feedback on our services and future plans.  Each survey takes 10-15 minutes to fill in.

We do most of our consultation online using internet questionnaires.  However, we can also send postal questionnaires to those without Internet access.

Occasionally we invite 8-12 people to the Council for open discussions on important issues.
