Working from home
If you had the opportunity to work from home would you?
Waverley Borough Council is supporting the Prime Ministers challenge to "create a decade of enterprise" by giving tenants permission to work from their home. There are many types of work that can be done without being a nuisance to neighbours or breaching planning rules. See the full article in the upcoming Waverley Homes & People.
Let us know what your thoughts are on this. If you could work from home, what would you do?

I do work from home and have done for 30 yrs . When my husband left me with 5 young children back in 1982 I needed a job and from then on have worked from home. Now i have 2 of my grown up family back at home with 2 grandchildren too. I will keep on working until whenever .I do love it although stressful

I would very much like to help other pensioners.

I already work from home, as do many self-employed tenants, e.g. in the construction industry, motor trade, hairdressing, taxi drivers etc.
My current job is advising councils to adorn their Tenant Blogs with a nice big "leave a comment" button rather than an diminutive strip of blue text; and to make the infuriating tiny comments boxes much bigger, so we can see what we are writing.
That would make it much easier for us to discuss exactly how the council could become a Beacon for the support they provide to self-employed tenants.
Thank you

If I could work from home or rather be paid for what I already do it would be medical research using the internet.

Thank you all for your comments.
Rob, I can recommend taking a look at Surrey County Council website and typing in 'volunteering' in the search engine where it will bring up information that may be of interest to you. Please let me know if you need me any further assistance with this.
Jerry, thank you for your comments, they have been noted. Your suggestions will be passed on to our communications team.
Regards, Sharon
